The first POPULAR bookstore was set up in 1936 by Mr Chou Sing Chu in North Bridge Road, focusing on retailing Chinese books and stationery. In 2006, POPULAR successfully organised the inaugural BookFest@Singapore and BookFest@Malaysia.
